If you've come to this site for dog training, take a few minutes to look through our site and see what we can do for you and your dog. I can say that we aim to provide the best dog training in Shanghai and China. If you find ANYONE that can do what we do, feel free to compare and talk to us before you make a decision on who to choose to train you and your dog.

There are local Chinese trainers out there that may be different from us in price and in 'format of training' but I will challenge ANY trainer to what we can do with you and your dog in just the first two hour session with us.

If you've read anything about training schools in China - they take your dog away for a 4 week course to teach it sit down stay - let me tell you now to be very careful with these schools. There are SOME good trainers, but there are also a lot of bad training which comes from a military background. A military uniformed man may seem impressive at first, but these are not trainers that I would leave my dogs with because their techniques are often out-dated, old-school (yank & crank) methods, and to put it simply in-humane compared to the modern developments of training today.

We believe it is important for the owner to have SOME understanding of their dog and training him/her. Because you spend most of the day with your dog, we believe it responsible for the owners to learn what you should and should not be doing. You are the biggest influence on your pet. You will learn more from us in a couple hours than you would from a couple days reading a book or surfing the internet for 'free dog training tips'.

Our clients are people who care for their dogs and ones who take the time and effort to provide a better life for their dog. If you are too, then we welcome you to learning the best way to train your dog.

Who We Are and What We Do
We are a group of expat and Chinese individuals who have dedicated a part of our lives to rescuing and rehoming stray and abandoned animals off the streets of Shanghai. Our group is named in honor and loving memory of 9 week old "Jaiya Kristina", who passed away from SIDS on February 14, 2009. At JAR we believe that every animal deserves a safe, secure and loving home.
