If you have a dog, please be patient, read one page, and let me and Edmond tell you about this very special ONE-OFF weekend event for dog owners in Shanghai.

In case you’re not familiar with Edmond, he is Head Trainer of G3 Dogs, he has been training dogs professionally for over 6 years and has been featured in a host of media from local Shanghai publications (That’s Shanghai, Enjoy Shanghai, Shanghai Daily etc.) to International Channels (Pets Magazine Singapore, China Eastern Airlines, China Morning Post), Television (ICS – International Channel of Shanghai) and working with some of top TV and movie directors and production companies in the U.K.

I hope we have the chance to share our ideas of training with you at this special one-off event, and I look forward to meeting with you soon!

From Edmond Kan, Head Trainer G3 Dogs:

“The fact is that if your dog is not behaving in a way that you truly want them to be, they’re not going to magically improve over time.  If your dog doesn’t pay attention to you the instant when you want him to; he’s never going to decide on his own, that today is going to be the day that it’s all going to change.  Dogs are animals, and animals react to their environment.  By training your dog properly, you can teach your dog how to react in given circumstances: to react to you and your voice; and thus achieve what you want from them.

Type in ‘Dog Training’ in Google (if they’re still in China) and you’ll find enough information to occupy you until 3am.  There is TOO much conflicting information out there and amateur videos to teach you ‘how to train your dog to heel’ or ‘teaching your dog to COME’ (which are probably blocked too) – which are often 2 minutes of junk or too short to cover what you really need to know.  If you might be ready for a NEW opportunity and for you to finally have COMPLETE understanding for your dog, let me show you in a few minutes of you reading below what I can bring to make things easier for you and your dog."

Are you ‘putting up with’ or have you just got used to your dog’s frustrating behaviour?
Whether it’s pulling you on the lead, not listening when around other dogs, or just that ONE little thing that would otherwise make him absolutely perfect… I will help you understand and train your dog in a way that gets the results you want.

Do you feel like there’s something ‘missing’ in your communication with your dog?
There won’t be any jargon or any scientific words, but a straight forward ‘tell it as it is’ method of teaching.  Just like your friend or next door neighbour would talk to you about something, I’ll reveal everything.  From what TV Dog Trainers do to get the results you see; to the training program that I have for my own two dogs.

What can I achieve?
My personal pet dog (Friday) understands 56 different voice and hand commands.  My other dog (Yellow) can be recalled from a pack of dogs (or anything else she might be doing) with 100% reliability from about half a mile.  I understand that you may not need all of this and may just want your dog to come back when called so I’ll take you through the process step-by-step so it’s easy for you to understand and to use for your own pet dog(s) during your walk or when you are at home.

Do I have time to walk AND train my dog…?
You don’t need to train your dog 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In fact, by doing things ‘little by little’ a dog becomes MORE motivated to listen to you.  Think of it as eating a chocolate cake… if you ate all the chocolate cake you could, every day, five times a day; not only will you be very sick, you probably won’t want to eat cake for quite a while.  My wife and I spend the most time with our own dogs (my dad likes to take them out too) and we train them for no more than 6 minutes a day, for an on-average 3-4 days a week.

BOOK NOW AND SIGN UP FOR THE EVENT
I’ve put together a weekend event that will take place on Sat March 13th and Sun March 14th at a cost which is 45% LOWER than my standard in-home training rate.  Not only is the price cheaper, you’ll get MORE time and MORE information from me over the weekend. The only difference is that you'll get a chance to meet other dog owners in Shanghai.

What you’ll be receiving when you come:

  1. A complete understanding of your dog and how to train him/her. (Topics detailed below).
  2. FREE Faux Lamb-Skin Dog Mat for the first 24 paid-participants.
  3. FREE One-to-One Question & Answer Session about your dog’s behaviour.
  4. Social Event for Dog Owners in Shanghai. You’ll get to meet other fellow dog owners that live in your area and maybe find a playmate for your dog!
  5. FREE Lunch, Beverages and Snacks all included throughout the day.

To claim your place, all you have to do is email us (CLICK HERE) with (i) your full name and (ii) your telephone number. It’s all just ¥3190 for the ENTIRE weekend.  THIS IS FOR EVERYTHING.  You’ve got to experience it for yourself because one weekend can literally transform your relationship with your dog.

First day - How To Train Your Dog By Just 6 Minutes Per Day
Topics covered:
How Dogs Learn – the mind behind the dog

There are FOUR primary methods of how a dog learns.  In order to be a happy dog owner, you must have two-way communication with your dog.  The average dog owner uses one method, (give a dog a treat) and at best, maybe two. By using and understanding these processes, we can understand their mind, their thinking, change the behaviour of a dog, and therefore use all four of these processes to achieve much better learning and communication.

Motivating Your Dog (for what YOU want)
Motivation is what makes the dog do what he does.  When training a dog, we need to know what reward is best for the dog. (What your dog REALLY wants). I’ll tell you, that 99% of the dog owners just don’t know what their dog wants and therefore don’t get the results they want, or even get frustrated at their dog for not listening.
With a better reward, our dog will sit when they see another dog; they listen better and are more focused on us.  Most often, if the dog doesn’t have the motivation to listen. (Or the owner doesn’t know what motivates their dog). Why should he bother coming back when called?  We’ll go through a system of how to find what your dog’s highest reward really is and how to use it for YOUR benefit.

The Newest System of Food Training
If your dog already responds sometimes to your talking or hand signals; you already have some kind of communication with him.  Just like a Chinese local would be able to speak English as a foreign language; there is a system of language in nouns, verbs, grammar and vocabulary that allows us to communicate.  Here, I’ll introduce the latest system of communication and reward based training, that we can use with dogs.  We can teach a dog 5+ actions in a single 6 minute training session. With this new system, there are two reward signals.  A ‘wrong’ signal, a ‘no’ signal. Multiple hand and voice communications with instant measurable results. By using this language that your dog understands, you’ll be able to communicate with them far more effectively. (This is a system that combines 'clicker/marker training' with other modern methods of dog training).

Obedience: Basic to Advanced
Fundamentals of teaching 100% Recall, Sit, Down, Stay, 2-types of Heeling, Eye Contact, Retrieve, Commands at Distant, how to start to train your dog off-leash with reliability, various tricks and training in high distractions.

From Purely Positive Training to Training Your Dog to Listen
In the last 20 years, pure positive training (positive reinforcement) has been at the forefront of dog training. However, there has also been a lot of ‘bad advice and bad information’ on the internet and in other media that have left owners holding a treat that a dog isn’t interested in. The idea of this section is improving the response of your dog when you speak to him/her.

Second Day – Solving Any Problem With Your Dog.
Topics Covered:
Leadership – The qualities behind a pack leader
What a leader really means, and are you doing it right? How a dog sees you and the tests to see if your dog respects you as a ‘pack leader’ and how to improve your status and relationship with your dog.  Includes dominance, and is your dog dominant?

Introduction of Corrections

Too often, I see people jerking their dog’s head or correcting their dog during a walk. It’s a very natural response to correct a dog; and even if it can temporarily stop your dog for that split second, most often enough, the dog isn’t learning why he’s being corrected and doesn’t know what he should and should not be doing.  I mean, if he REALLY does know, and you have made it very clear for him, then his behaviour (whatever he is doing wrong) should be gradually diminishing...  If he’s still doing it tomorrow, then YOU are doing something wrong.  It’s simply unfair to punish your dog for your lack of understanding.

Not Listening To YOU, Sometimes Listening To You – Stubborn or just Un-Trained?

When someone tells me that their dog is ‘stubborn’ and explains to me that their dog ‘knows’ the command but refuses to listen, I ask them to do a very simple test. Turn your back to your dog and say the command JUST ONCE.  If your dog responds within 2 seconds to the command (for example ‘Sit!’) then he understands.  If he doesn’t, then you are still at the infancy of training your dog. In training a dog a command, there are 3 stages of training. 1. The learning phase; 2. The obedience phase; and 3. The distraction phase.  By taking the the dog through each step thoroughly, it will be fair to him because he knows what is expected of him.  It’s completely INHUMANE if you are correcting your dog if he doesn’t understand what you want from him.

Encouraging Good Behaviour At Home
Although I believe that there may be a time and place where a dog may need to be corrected, good behaviour and encouragement for your dog at home should be the foundation of any pet relationship.  Done correctly, I’ve raised puppies of pet and working lines in a home environment with minimal corrections.  It’s about preparation and prevention with lots of encouragement.

Eliminating and Solving Bad/Unwanted Behaviour
Pulling on the Lead, Separation Anxiety, Proper Socialisation, Unwanted Barking, Destructive Chewing, Fear, Aggression, the list goes on. Whether it’s a genetic problem or however the problem has been created; the problems in most cases CAN be reversed.  I’ve been lucky enough to help dog owners who’ve taken the initiative to take a course of action to seek professional advice before it was too late.  A lot of people ‘live with’ their problems and take it as part of owning a dog.  These people tend to 'ignore' their dogs behaviour in the effort that the behaviour will 'one-day' disappear. I'll tell you now that in most dogs, ignoring a behaviour will NEVER extinguish unwanted behaviour. This is a biological fact based on studies and research, as well as my own and other professionals' personal experience.

Other Training Methods
A coverage and discussion of alternative training methods. From ‘old school’ training to purely positive training to the most modern methods with e-collars.  The truth about local Chinese dog trainers and why you should be careful about boarding your dog at these ‘training’ kennels.  The hidden knowledge that other trainers use – including behind the scenes from what TV Dog Trainers (including me) do and how they get their amazing results.

Question & Answer Session
I will personally answer individual cases and questions giving you the chance to have live consultations about your dog or training issues.  I will allow enough time so that everyone will have their questions answered on both days.  If there isn’t enough time however, I’ll personally schedule time to contact you after the event.
